With powerful vocals, catchy hooks, and driving beats, Skram's music is guaranteed to get your heart racing and your feet moving. The band's live performances are a sight to behold, as they bring an energy and passion to the stage that is truly infectious. With a fanbase that is rapidly growing, Skram is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about bands in the industry. They are a band that you don't want to miss, so make sure to catch them on tour and experience their electrifying music for yourself.
Led by the dynamic vocals and guitar skills of Henry Ashby, this powerhouse three-piece features Felix Nesbitt on drums and vocals, and the funky grooves of Tane Butler on bass.
These boys come from different parts of the country, but their passion for music brought them together. Felix and Lee Pryor (former member) bonded over their love for intricate tunes while studying at Whitireia Polytechnic, and went on to play in several bands and teach music. Henry pursued his acting career in the north island and became a familiar face in musical theater productions, even making a brief appearance on Shortland Street. When the three of them came together to teach and play music at a school in Wellington, they knew they had to take their collaboration to the next level. Enter Tane Butler, who joined the band on their Summer Tour in 2021 and quickly became a permanent member, completing the Skram family. Conall Ryan (former member) hopped on board winter 2022 with his infectious energy.
Moving forward as a trio, Henry, Tane, and Felix continue to play shows across New Zealand, working on new music, and finding innovative and create ways to set their stage show apart.
Their debut album "Walk into the Sun" received widespread praise and landed them opening gigs for top acts like Sons of Zion, Lime Cordiale, and most recently headlining Summer In Taranaki with Tiki Taane and Daffodils. Skram also recently headlined Lumino Festival in Wellington. But that's not all, their hit track "Love Don't Keep Me Waiting" exploded onto the Hot 20 NZ Singles Charts, solidifying Skram's place as one of the hottest up-and-coming acts in Aotearoa.
